KATHUA, Nov 29: Much to the relief of the villagers living in far-off areas of Kathua constituency, MLA Kathua, Rajiv Jasrotia today  laid foundation stone of vented causeway (bridge) at Village Fafaal (Bhed Blode) at the cost of 4.72  crore.
The MLA on the occasion said that Coalition Government in general and his party in particular is committed to improving travelling facilities in the inaccessible and far off areas of the State so that the underprivileged do not suffer. “The people of Kathua have reposed their faith in me and it is my responsibility to ensure that their basic facilities and amenities are not compromised,” he added.
MLA further said the need for such a bridge was felt for long and he would ensure in time completion of the project as Government is committed and serious for the development of the constituency. He also stressed on the need to connect people of the State with each other emotionally, mentally and behaviourally so that the State marches ahead in one voice on the road to prosperity. Locals thanked the MLA for taking keen interest in construction of the bridge.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that Government was committed to provide better services to the people of rural areas with special thrust to improve the road connectivity, education, health and PHE sectors. He said education is the key to development of society and nation. He said a strong network of educational institutions has been created in Kathua to provide this important facility to the students of rural areas at their doorsteps.
MLA said that Government has launched several schemes for the farmers to boost agriculture production. Kissan Credit Card is the best tool to upgrade the activities and farmers must take full advantage of this facility. He said Central Government has issued special instructions to the Public Sector banks to advance maximum finance for the agricultural activities with nominal interest rate; therefore, the farmers should come forward in a big way to avail the benefits of these Central sponsored schemes.
Sarpanch Naseeb Singh, Executive Engineer, PMGSY, City Mandal Pardhan Vidya Sagar, Sarpanch Babloo, Ram Singh besides prominent persons of the area were present on the occasion.
