KATHUA, Apr 12: MLA Kathua, Rajiv Jasrotia today called upon people to participate in development of the State as they were the main stakeholders in the process.
The MLA said this while interacting with the inhabitants after launching various lanes and drains works worth Rs 85 lakh in Ward 2 near GHSS Kathua, Ward 17, Ward 7, Ward 14 and Ward 12 in Kabir Nagar.
The MLA said that the Government was making all out efforts to provide better infrastructure and amenities to the people. He called upon the people to extend their cooperation and keep a watch on the implementation of schemes for better results on the ground. He said that the coalition Government was committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of the State at their doorsteps and various development projects have been initiated in the State to facilitate the public
. The MLA also directed the PHE and PDD officers to replace worn out water supply pipes and wires besides laying of water supply pipes well before the start of up-gradation work of lanes and drains. He said that the main focus of the Government was to develop every corner of the State with modern lines, for which liberal funding has been provided by the Central Government to the State Government.
On the occasion, people of the areas apprised the MLA about their grievances and demands, which mainly include un-interrupted power supply, upgradation of lanes and drains in left out localities, provision of safe drinking water, benefits under various State and Centre sponsored schemes like BPL, Pension Schemes, Widow pension Scheme, etc. Responding to the public, the MLA assured them that all their genuine demands would be addressed at the earliest.
The MLA also asked the KMC to prepare estimates for modernization of left out lanes and drains in the area and submit the same for funding to ensure early start of work.
