Jammu Superstars lifts JKP T20 Exhibition match for orphan children

JAMMU, Apr 1: Jammu Superstars trounced Jammu Super Kings by 43 runs in an easy contest and lifted the ‘JKP T20 exhibition match for orphaned/destitute children played at Parade Ground, here today.
The exhibition cricket match in which the cricketers from Balgran SOS Channi Rama, Jammu participated, was organized  by Jammu District Police  under the overall supervision of Dr. Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu and the  match was conducted under the civic action program of Jammu and Kashmir Police Department.
The main objective of the match was to encourage the orphan/ destitute children to be the part of main stream society.
Ramesh Kotwal SP headquarters Jammu was the chief guest in the valedictory function. The chief guest accompanied by Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer distributed trophies and cricket bats among the winners and best players of the  match.
In his address, Ramesh Kotwal lavished praise for the organizing team for conducting the event and wished for making the event an annual feature.
He further said that J&K Police is committed to conduct different sports events under the Civic Action Programme.
Earlier, Jammu Superstars won the toss and elected to bat first to score 175 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 15 overs. Arvinder Singh (74), Aman (49) and Ravinder (35) runs were the main scorers for Jammu Superstars. For Jammu Super Kings, Bablu took 2 wicket while Vikas claimed one.
In reply, Jammu Super Kings failed to chase the target and managed to score 132 runs in 14 overs, thus lost the match by 43 runs. Bablu played a good innings of 26 runs, while Vikas and Mohd. Rafi contributed 23 and 12 runs to the total. For Jammu Superstars Aman, Sanjay and Ajay took 2 wickets each, while Arvinder claimed 1 wicket. Arvinder was adjudged as man of the match for his good performance.
The match was officiated by Vinod, Sanju and Ajay.
The Organizing Committee included Dr Sunil Gupta SSP Jammu, Vinod Kumar SP City, Ramesh Kotwal SP Hqrs, Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer, Vivek Shekar DySP City and RP Singh.
