Jammu South wins Korfball title

JAMMU, Mar 24: Jammu South won 16th Bhai Gurbax Singh Memorial State Korfball Championship 2018-19, which concluded at Playing Field No-1 Gandhi Nagar, here.
14 teams drawn from various districtd participated in the Championship.
The final match was played between Jammu South and Jammu East teams, in which Jammu South scripted a close win by 11-10 to win the title.
At half-time score was 4-3 in favour of Jammu South. For Jammu South, Sukhwant Singh scored 5 goals, while for Jammu East Mohit Singh Bhau scored 4 goals.
Earlier, Jammu South beat Pulwama and Jammu East beat kathua by big margins.
Pulwama defeated Kathua by 11-6 to win 2nd runners-up trophy.
IGP JP Singh was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while Abdul Qayoom Chief Sports Officer was the guest of honour.
JP Singh gave trophies and medals to the winners and runners-up teams.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest and the guest of honour lauded the efforts of the Association and its President, TS Wazir for holding the event in a befitting manner.
The match was officiated by Manjeet Singh, International player.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were TS Wazir, Tarlok Singh, Manjeet Singh, Ram Kumar Sharma, VP Sharma, JBS Bali and Seema Kharyal.
