Jammu migrants

Owing to Pakistan sponsored terrorism, people from many districts of Jammu province migrated to secured places. A case was filed by the migrants at the Supreme Court of India which ordered that registered migrants have to be paid cash assistance as they are the citizens of India. In pursuance of the order of the SC, 1054 families belonging to various districts of Jammu province were registered after carrying out proper verification by CID authorities. Financial assistance has been given to them but arrears from the year 2004 to September 2007 have not been paid on the pretext of financial constraints. The non-clearance of arrears is notwithstanding the fact that Government had committed in Supreme Court to pay Jammu-based migrants the arrears from 2004 to 2007.
It is legal, moral and administrative responsibility of the Government to clear the arrears of financial assistance to the genuine migrants in Jammu. If there was no financial crunch for paying relief amount to flood sufferers how come that the Jammu migrants are discriminated on the pretext of financial crunch?
