JAMMU, May 22: A general body meeting of the Jammu Mathematical Society’ was held at Department of Mathematics, University of Jammu, in which new office bearers of the society were unanimously elected for the tenure 2015 – 17.
Prof Dalip Singh Jamwal, HoD Mathematics in JU was elected as president while Dr Romesh Kumar was elected as secretary, Prof Bhopinder Singh as vice-president, Dr Sunil Gupta as treasurer and Dr Narinder Kumar as joint secretary.
The newly elected body also discussed about the future activities of JMS for the year 2015 – 16 and planned to conduct JMS Mathematical Olympiad for students of +2 level of Jammu region in addition to holding of one- day student’s conference and Alka Memorial Mathematical Competition for UG and PG students.
