JAMMU, Apr 13:  Even after one month of investigation, Agra police has failed to work out murder case of Jammu research scholar, Neha Sharma in her own College premises at Agra, while the J&K police team headed by a Dy Superintendent of Police has returned from Agra without any much success.
The family members of the girl who are also in touch with the J&K Police may approach the UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to seek a CBI probe into the case.  It has no much hopes from the Agra police as even after one month wait and questioning more than four dozen people, the police has failed to trace the accused involved in the murder of girl who was busy in research work in her Lab at the time of murder.
Rashpal Sharma, father of the victim, Neha Sharma told the Excelsior that he has met several police officers in connection with the case in last one month. The police says that they were working on the case and will trace the accused but till now no one has been finally arrested in the case. It seems that police was still in the dark even after getting reports from Forensic Lab. Agra police also maintained that it was their jurisdiction to look into the case and the J&K police has no role to play. He said the J&K police team met them at their residence and assured that they have taken up the matter with them on behalf of J&K Police and also assured them cooperation but they also maintained that it was UP Police’s jurisdiction and only they will investigate into the case.
Replying to a question, victim’s father who is ex-serviceman, hailing from Rabta Mathuar village of Akhnoor  said that one month time was enough to break the case. Now, they had no much hope from Agra police. Even the SSP did not constitute a Special Investigation into the Case. Routine Thana Police IO was working. He said J&K Government said to have exerted pressure on UP Government to investigate the case but no results were there. “Now, we will be compelled to seek a CBI probe into the case and for this, the family will approach the UP Chief  Minister Akhilesh Yadav within a week. And if, he refused, we may approach the State High Court for the same and the family will continue to fight for justice” they maintained.
Minister of  State for Home Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo told the Excelsior that IG Jammu had sent the police team to Agra in connection with the murder. The purpose was to coordinate with the Agra Police and find out the progress in the investigations.  He said that as per information received from the Police, many people were interrogated in connection with girl’s murder and Agra police was closer to crack the case.
Mr Kitchloo said that he has written a letter to the Minister of State for Home, Uttar Pradesh and sought his intervention into the matter. He said that MoS Home (UP) has been requested to take personal initiative in the case to ensure speedy investigations. Mr Kitchloo said that he will talk to him again, if needed.
It may be recalled that question about sensational murder case of young girl student  from Jammu at Dayalbagh Educational Institute Agra was raised in the Legislative Council by NC legislator Devender Singh Rana on March 20. The members showing concern over the issue asked the Government to take up matter with UP Government and also send a J&K Police team to Agra for seeking facts and to ensure that guilty are brought to justice.
