JAMMU, Feb 5: Sunil Dimple president Jammu West Assembly Movement led protest rally demanding grant of the “district status” to the West Assembly constituency and also against the traffic problem.
On the occasion, the activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement holding pla-cards in hand raised slogans in support of their demands and charged the Government with no development works taking place in the West Assembly constituency. They added that the people have started pasting posters on the walls that no development took place during the BJP-PDP 10 months governance and the condition of the roads, lane, drains is dilapidated and the people are without basic amenities and facing traffic jams.
Addressing the protestors Dimple urged the Governor N N Vohra to grant of District Status to the West Assembly constituency and its bifurcation in to two Assembly segments as it is the largest constituency of the State.
He demanded Governor Vohra for the construction of the flyovers at Rehari Chungi and Jewal Chowk. Dimple demanded Governor for the construction of alternative four way circular road from Amphalla Manda to High Court Janipur, to Roop Nagar, Bantalab and from Jewal Chowk to Talab Tillo via Bhagwati Nagar- Canal Road to ease the traffic rush problem on the Talab Tillo, Amphalla, New Plot, Janipur and Bantalab Road.
Dimple demanded resignation from the sitting MLA and MP of the constituency as no development works has taken place.
