JAMMU, Sept 19: District Jammu beat District Kathua convincingly to lift Under-19 girls Softball title at GGM Science College Ground, here today.
Jammu trounced its rival by (16-06).
The Inter-District Divisional level competitions in Under-19 Girls Softball and Kabaddi Under-14, 17 and 19 years are being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Parade Ground, GGM Science College Ground and Kabaddi Ground, MA Stadium, here.
410 participants from Jammu Division are taking part in the competitions, which are being held under the patronage of Dr Saleem-Ur-Rehman, Director General, Youth Services & Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu. Chanchal Kour, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu is the Organising Secretary of the competitions.
The main objective of the competitions is to select the teams/players for the next level of competitions.
In Cricket Under-19 boys, Jammu/Dansal Zone beat Bhalwal/Marh by 5 runs.
Jammu/Dansal Zone scored 73 for the loss of 7 wickets against Bhalwal/Marh Zone’s 68 for the loss of 8 wickets.
In Kabaddi Under-19 boys, District Jammu beat District Doda by 17 points, District Udhampur defeated District Kishtwar by 28 points, District Samba drubbed District Poonch in a close contest by 1 point and District Kathua outclassed District Rajouri by 21 points.
The matches were officiated by a panel of experts of the Department of Youth Services & Sports.
