Jail inmates get training programmes

JAMMU, Dec 2: On the direction of DGP Prisons, S K Mishra, training courses of electricians/house wiring and beautician trade have been started in District Jail Jammu from today.
The courses are being imparted by the Central Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Community Development Scheme) through Government Polytechnic for Women, Jammu.  The duration of each programme will be six months.
According to Senior Superintendent of District Jail Jammu, Dinesh Sharma, the main objective of such type of training programme in jail is to make the jail inmates trained so that they will be able to earn their livelihood after release and live respectably in the society.
Er Ritu Jamwal, Programme Coordinator and Principal of the Government Polytechnic for Women Jammu and Pawan Kumar, HoD, are instrumental in the programme while Instructor Romesh Chander Salaria and Anuradha have been deployed by the Government Polytechnic for Women, Jammu for imparting training to male and female jail inmates.
