ITI Employees United Front takes up issues with Commissioner Secretary

JAMMU, Dec 26: A delegation of J&K ITI Employees United Front led by its State President Nazir Ahmed Molvi met Commissioner Secretary, Technical Educational, Moham-mad Saleem Shishgar, today.
During the meeting, the delegation projected various demands including holding of DPC meetings, placement of gazetted cadre to clear the pending promotion and filling up vacant posts of Joint Director (ITI Sector).
They said that various posts of Principal and Superintendent are lying vacant since long which is hampering training programme badly of the institutes, adding that administrative department has draft the gazette and non-gazetted recruitment rules of Technical Education ITI Sector and the rules are pending in ARI Trainings office for approval.
“All adhoc and consolidated employees who have completed the seven years service in accordance with set rules SRO 255 should be regularized, those who do not qualify SRO 255 be regularized on the analogy of ReT teacher, salary of academic, consolidated and contractual vocational instructors should be atleast to basic pay with grade pay or Rs 14000 as per IMC norms, modernize infrastructure and equipment and construct new workshop-cum-class room block and auditorium hall in ITI Jammu and many old ITIs in general”, the delegation members demanded.
Commissioner Secretary Saleem Shishgar paid patient hearing to the demands and assured appropriate action to the issues.
Among others present were Naresh Sharma, Vice President, Karan Singh, Secretary, Haji Parvez Iqbal, Chief Coordinator, Manzoor Ahmed, Mubashar and Ashwani Hashia.
