KATHUA, Mar 2: Hitting out at some Kashmir centric leaders for comparing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) with the separatist Jamat-e-Islamia (JeI) Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh today said it is obnoxious to compare separatist Jamat with nationalist and patriotic RSS.
Talking to reporters at the side lines of Vijay Sankalp bike rally which was led by him here, today, Dr Jitendra Singh said it is obnoxious to compare separatist Jamat with nationalist and patriotic RSS and those who do so know nothing about RSS.
He said that those who say so are not aware of RSS culture and working which has 100 years old history of serving nation and its people without caste, creed and colour.
When his attention was drawn towards the statement of former Chief Minister and PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti’s in this regard without naming her said the Kashmir centric leaders have been groomed in a culture of separatists and so they see every thing with the same prism. Lambasting them, he said they can’t visualize that RSS stands for ethos and for them nationalism and country’s unity and integrity is of paramount importance for which many great leaders of the Sangh laid down their lives also.

For a RSS activist nation is above all and he will not compromise on the national cause. He (an RSS activist) will prefer to lay down his life instead of playing with national cause, Dr Jitendra Singh said, adding during J P Movement in late seventies, the RSS veteran, Nana Ji Deshmukh despite his old age gave cover to Loak Nayak at a public rally when police resorted to lathicharge on him who was leading a rally.
Dr Jitendra Singh said the JP might have received injuries, had he not been covered by Nana Ji. When media asked him (Nana Ji) that why he covered JP by throwing his own life in risk, Deshmukh replied that country needs JP more than him because JP mobilized entire country against the emergency imposed by then Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. He said for his selfless service to the nation Nana Ji Deshmukh was awarded Bharat Ratna by this Government.
Dr Jitendra Singh, while rubbishing the statement of Kashmiri leaders in this regard said that “we can’t compare those who flourish on Hawala money with RSS activists”.
Dr Jitendra Singh, while terming the return of Indian Air Force Pilot, Abhinandan Varthaman a victory of the Indian people, said Modi Government succeeded in cornering Pakistan on every front on Pulwama Fidayeen attack. He said Kathua is the land of sacrifices and right from veteran Jana Sangh founder , Dr Shayama Parasad Mookherjee who laid down his life in the State after entering from Lakhanpur, the entire country is testimony to the fact that three generations of people laid down their lives in this belt for national cause.
He said the Jammu youth are an inspiration for the 130 crore people of this nation as they always stood for the national cause.
In response to another question, Dr Jitendra Singh said India is always ready to face any challenge. He said the enemy was given befitting reply by Indian forces.
Dr Jitendra Singh, while terming the release of Indian Air Force Pilot, Abhinandan and international pressure on Pakistan to weed out terrorism from its soil as the big victory of Narendra Modi Government, said that Pakistan has been fully isolated now. He said it was due to the Modi Government’s diplomacy that the countries who earlier did not subscribe to India’s view point on terrorism have now come around it and agreed that terrorism is a threat to global peace and needs a joint fight.
Later, Dr Jitendra Singh led the bike rally in Kathua which started from Mookherjee Chowk and passed through various areas of the town. The rally was organized by BJYM led by its district president Rajesh Mehta.
