ISB Mohali wins second edition of ACE-II

GURGAON, Jan 31: The second edition of Amazing Champions of Energy (ACE II), conducted by Cairn India, concluded today with the grand finale held here.
Cairn India Limited, the world’s fastest growing energy company according to Platts started the ACE campaign in 2013 in a quest to engage bright young minds across India to participate in India’s vision of attaining energy security.
The contest saw participation from 21 premier Engineering and Management institutions across the country.
ISB Mohali emerged as the winner in the grand finale, whereas MNIT Jaipur and IIM Calcutta were adjudged for the second and third position respectively.
P Elango, CEO, Cairn India Limited felicitated the winners with Rs 5 lakhs, Rs 2 lakhs and Rs 1 lakh for 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders respectively.
The final day of the competition included case-study competitions on the theme “Subsidy or Subsidy Administration-which is the bigger problem for India”, in which students presented working models of better and more sustainable technologies to achieve energy security for India.
During one of the sessions principals, parents, energy mentors and students shared their experiences of the journey of ACE-II.
The audience was informed about the idea behind Amazing champions of Energy and the path it has followed in harnessing the country’s youth potential through campus connect initiatives. The event was rounded off with insightful case study presentations by all the 21 participating institutes.
Speaking at the event, Dr Sunil Bharati, Chief Technical Officer, Cairn India said, “Issues pertaining to oil and gas sector will have an influence on India’s journey towards energy security. Through the ‘Amazing Champions of Energy (ACE)’ initiative, Cairn India collaborates with leading educational institutes across the country to trigger the minds of young talents and harness their thoughts to generate debates and discussions about energy solutions for tomorrow”, he added.
