KATHUA, May 16: The irate people of village Chandyar in Bani tehsil held a protest demonstration and blocked Bani -Basholi road for five hours in protest against the failure of the Government to construct the road under PMGSY scheme.
The protesters raising slogans against the Government and administration started the road blockade from 5 am and continued it upto 10-30 am.
They lifted the road blockade only when the local MLA Jeevan Lal, SDM, Bani Ajit Singh and SHO reached the spot and assured that the construction work of road will be taken up in hand soon.
The people alleged that the work on other roads in the area has been started under PMGSY while this road was ignored. However the MLA removed the misunderstanding created in this regard and said that the road will be constructed soon.
