IPF suspends J&K Powerlifting Association

JAMMU, May 13: Indian Powerlifting Federation (ITF) has suspended all the office bearers of J&K Powelifting Association including its President and General Secretary.
Honourary General Secretary IPF, Nirban Das in a letter to the Secretary J&K State Sports Council dated May 9, 2017 has stated that in the larger interest of the players of J&K, the affairs of J&K Powerlifting will now be looked after by the IPF through its adhoc committee comprising of six members including Salman Lone, DS Malhi, Jaspreet Singh, PK Srivastava, Rattan Kumar Basak and Parmender Kaur.
IPF has directed the committee to take immediate charge of the day-to-day activities of Powerlifting in J&K.
Meanwhile, the Adhoc Committee of IPF will be holding selection trials to pick the State Sub Junior Powerlifting team on May 16, 2017 at Royal Health Club in Jammu.
The Championship will be held at Chanderpur Maharashtra from May 29 to June 1, 2017.
