Right to education is a fundamental right of every citizen. When all the subjects are introduced at +2 level why mass communication and journalism is facing stepmotherly approach. This subject has a tremendous market value and is taught at higher levels. Institutions like University of Kashmir-IUST Awantipora-Central University Kashmir and University of Jammu have introduced it in the syllabi. Thousands of students have done post graduation and are working in private sector in J&K. Apart from this, many universities and colleges outside the State are offering degrees in this subject. Recently in State assembly at Jammu, MLA and senior PDP leader Mr Veeri stressed that this subject should be introduced a Higher Secondary Schools. It is a matter of fact that many students after passing matriculate examinations want to take this subject but they have to compromise as on Higher Secondary Schools offers them this choice.
It is requested to the concerned Minister that steps should be taken for introducing mass communication and journalism at +2 level to give this subject its due. By doing this hundreds of mass communication pass out will get jobs.
