KATRA, Dec 11: The International Case Study Conference (INCSC-2017), organized by the School of Business was inaugurated today at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.
The 3-day conference is being organized to create an understanding and appreciation for the qualitative research and case based methodology in the learning and decision making. The conference was inaugurated by Prof Manoj Joshi, Director, Center of VUCA Studies Lucknow and Prof D Mukhopadhyay, Dean Faculty of Management, SMVDU.
Prof Mukhopadhyay said that School of Business is committed for the knowledge creation and dissemination. The convener of the workshop Dr Saurabh informed about the necessity of case based research as a decision making tool for the managers, administrators and the researchers. Dr Sushil K Mehta, Head, School of Business, said that the participants shall have national and international exposure and would be benefitted with the workshop and technical sessions in the conference.
Dr Rashi Taggar, the organizing secretary of the conference informed that 45 cases and papers on qualitative research have been selected for the conference. Experts from countries like Japan, UAE would present their views in this 3-days conference. The members of the advisory board of the conference included Prof Ahinandan Jain, IIM Ahmedabad, India; Prof Rudiger Kauf Mann, University of Nicosia, Cyprus; Prof Arundaditya Sahay, BIMTECH, India; Prof Sanda Renko, University of Zagreb, Croatia; Prof Jantima Banjongprasert, Silpakorn University Bankok, Thailand; Prof Albert Wocke, the University of Pretoria’s, Gordon Institute of Business Science, South Africa.
