Inter-School Karate, TT, Choi Kwando competitions conclude

JAMMU, July 21: District Level Inter School competitions of District Jammu in the sports disciplines of Karate, Table Tennis and Choi Kwando for under-19 years boys concluded at MA Stadium, Indoor Complex and Stephen Public School Miran Sahib, here today.
In all, 130 Boys drawn across 14 Zones of Jammu District took part in the competitions.
The competitions were organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports under the patronage of Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad, Director General, Youth Services & Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu. Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu was the Organising Secretary of the tournament.
The main objective of the tournament was to select the teams of District Jammu for higher level competitions.
Choi Kwang Do U-19 (Boys) at Stephen Public School Miran Sahib: 42-45 Kg; Mayank Mahajan of APS Ratnu Chak-1st; Pankaj Sharma of the same school 2nd.
The gold medal winners in other categories included Prikshit Singh,
Honey Sharma, Ramanshu, Nikhil Saini, Amit Kumar Sharma, Nitish Toga, Aman Sharma and Sahil Gupta.
Meanwhile, in Table Tennis U-19 boys, Ojaswin of GD Goenka beat Abhay of Model Academy by 11-4, 11-7; Koustav of GD Goenka defeated Aastik by 11-8, 11-7, Aashray of GD Goenka outplayed Tanish by 11-6, 11-7.
The matches were officiated by a panel of experts of the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
