Inter-Regional Tourism Stakeholders Workshop held at JU

JAMMU, Mar 5: School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, University of Jammu in collaboration with Kargil Development Project today organized Inter-Regional Tourism Stakeholders Workshop.
The workshop was chaired by Prof Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director, School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, University of Jammu and co-chaired by Kacho Feroz, Member Advisory Committee, KDP.
Prof Parikshat Singh Manhas said that training of tourism stakeholders and the host community is the key to sustainable tourism development which will create a conducive environment for the development of tourism at large.
Kacho Feroz stressed upon building inter-regional cooperation amongst various tourism stake holders.
During the workshop various issues were deliberated regarding integration of promotional efforts of three regions of the State, development of novel tourist circuits, conversion of regional tourism for the overall economic development of the State, developing mechanism to control the erratic rise in popular air circuits, sensitization of domestic tourist with the concepts of sustainable tourism and carrying capacity and Integration of promotional efforts of three regions of the State so that tourist should have good experience. It was also discussed in the workshop to stress upon the State Tourism Department to hold such meetings in future and undertake capacity building programs for the various stake holders.
The workshop was attended by various stakeholders from across the State including Rajesh Gupta, Advisor Tourism UT of Lakshadweep, Ather Yameen Narwari, Travel Agent Society of Kashmir, Nasir, The Highland Mountain Resort and Spa, Faisul Yaseen, Rising Kashmir, Ather Yameen, Earth Explorers, M Aneyes, Travel Corporation of Ladakh, T.Wangchuk Shali, Explore Himalayas, Nasir Shah, JK PILTOF, Nasir Shah CNE Luxury Holidays, Manzoor Pakhtoon, Silk Route Holidays, Prof Deepak Raj Gupta, SHTM, Dr Anil Gupta, SHTM, Dr Suvidha Khanna, SHTM, Mohammad Ali Finance Officer, KDP and Mohammad Bakir, Executive Director KDP.
The workshop culminated with the vote of thanks from Director, SHTM.
