Inter-district drug peddler nabbed with heroin

JAMMU, Jan 23: Talab Tillo police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ nabbed an inter-district drug peddler and recovered 33 grams heroin from his possession.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Talab Tillo police station laid a naka and signaled a Maruti car bearing registration number JK02U-8195 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police recovered 33 grams heroin from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Sukhdev Singh (26), son of Tej Singh of Bhumage, Tehsil Katra, presently residing in District Udhampur.
A case under FIR Number 13/17 under Section 8/21/22/60 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Nowabad police station and investigation started to ascertain the source of this consignment.
Police team led by Incharge Talab Tillo police post SI Sumeet Sharma accompanied by ASI Abdul Salam made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Nowabad Inspector Raghubir Choudhary, SDPO West Nikhil Rasgotra and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
