JAMMU, Nov 2: In order to promote physical fitness of the jawans and to promote sportsmanship among the officials, two days Inter Coy Sports Meet was held at IR-15th Battalion.
The meet was held under the supervision of Manjit Kour, Commandant, IR-15th Battalion.
Various officials of the battalion participated in various events including Volleyball, Kabaddi, Tug-of-War and Handball. A total of 5 teams comprising of 50 women officials of different companies participated in all the four events.
B-Coy emerged winners in Kabaddi and Handball events, whereas E-Coy in Volleyball and D-Coy in Tug-of-War. Constable Salma Bano was adjudged as all round best player during the meet.
On the valedictory function, Commandant Manjit Kour along with Deputy Commandant Sumir Kotwal and others GOs of the battalion awarded the winners of the meet.
While speaking, Commandant Manjit Kour said that main aim of organizing such events at unit level is to select the players, who will further participate in Inter Battalion Tournament.
