KATHUA, Nov 24: An Inter -College Poster Making competition on the theme of ‘ Respect yourself , Be Drug Free’ was organized by the Red Ribbon Club Unit (GDC Kathua).
Dr Arun Dev Singh, Co-ordinator of the club in his welcome address, threw light on the various activities of the club and discussed the various issues related to drug abuse which is spreading like slow poison among the youth.
Dr Nater Singh Raina, Principal, GDC Kathua, was the chief guest on the occasion and inaugurated the function and congratulated the participants. He also encouraged and appreciated the efforts of the Red -Ribbon Club of the college for organizing so many activities which are helpful for making aware the students.
He also informed the students that Red -Ribbon Club basically originated from America , from there its impact was felt in rest of the countries. Prof. K. C. Bhadgal, Principal, GDC Mahanpur was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.
14 participants from different colleges of Jammu province participated in the Event. The best three posters of the events and declared the result of the participants. The winners: Rahul Sharma (GDC Kathua), got first position, Vijayta Kashyap (GLDM Hiranagar) Second position and Isha Andotra (GDC Mahanpur) third position.
