More Institutions celebrate Dussehra, Gandhi Jayanti

JAMMU, Sept 29: More Educational Institutions across Jammu City celebrated Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti with religious fervour and enthusiasm, here today.
Keeping the festive spirit alive, Dussehra was celebrated today at Trikuta Nagar and Gandhi Nagar branches of Wonder World School. To mark Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana and to reinforce the message that good always triumphs over evil, the effigy of Ravana was burnt. The chairperson, Gitanjali Mahajan blessed the students, while inspiring them to follow the path of truth.
In order to strike a balance between introducing children a global outlook and teaching them about the Indian culture, DPS Udhampur celebrated Dussehra with much gusto and enthusiasm. Students of DPS, Udhampur presented a special Ram Leela for which the other students and teacher could not wait for the epic drama. The Pro Vice Chairman of the School, Dr JC Gupta who was also the chief guest threw light on the importance of the day. The guest of honour was Deputy Commandant, Lalit Yadav.
The Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu celebrated Ram Navmi, Dusshera and Gandhi Jayanti with great enthusiasm and joy, under the supervision and guidance of MD  Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Principal Devinder Kour and Vice-Principal Nirmal Koul. A colourful cultural programme was presented by the students under the guidance of Sheetal Basotra, In-charge co-curricular activities.
Gandhi Jayanti celebration was held in the premises of DPS, Udhampur. The day started with a special Assembly. Students put up a great show and enthralled the audience with their melodious voice by singing Gandhiji’s favourite song “Raghupta Raghav Raja Ram Patit Pawan Sita Ram”. Speaking to the gathering the Pro Vice Chairman DPS, Udhampur Dr JC Gupta said  “Gandhi Jyanti is the time to remember and follow Gandhian Principles and make life free from hatred and violence.
Keeping the festive spirit alive, Dusherra and Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated today with gaiety and religiosity at Jammu Sanskriti School here today. A special assembly was organized in the school where no stone was left unturned to bring the scenario to life when Lord Rama killed Ravan and goodness triumphs over evil. Principal cum Vice-Chairperson of the school Rohini Aima spoke on the significance of the day.
Mount Litera Zee School Jammu and its Pre-Primary wing KIDZEE, Anand Nagar, Bohri, Jammu celebrated “Dandiya Utsav” with great enthusiasm on the special occasion of navratri with the beats of Dandiya in the presence of Chairman Er. Parneesh Mahajan, Liaison Officer Harvinder Singh Sihotra, Principal  Manikarnika Bhasin, Co-ordinator  Radhika Mahajan, staff and all the mother participants along with their friends and children.
Daffodils Care Convent School Jammu celebrated the occasion of Ramnavmi, Vijyadashmi and Gandhi Jayanti in the school premises with great enthusiasm. A colorful jhanki with nine Avtaars of Mata Durga was the main attraction of the celebration. A beautiful act showing Mata Sita in Lanka was depicted by the kids in a very nice way. Shikha Puri, Principal of the school conveyed the messages to do good and be good to others and always speak the truth.
