Inner Voice

Waiting!

Labelling to be my EGO
That
Forced you to pass those poignant remarks……
Which shattered my very existence
And
My adversaries got chance
To laugh
And sing like larks…..
Was my grief stricken silence
That kept on thwarting me
And ripped me off my words.
Perhaps,Deep inside
I had realised
That being extrovert caused great discontent
And You too were bent
Never to bother but to accuse
I kept mum…….
Meshed in and carrying on
My wounded shoulders
The trap of my life
Desperate, despairingly, supinely
Passing my cursed life
Was I
When, disguised again
You came and mocked
For your pleasure And I
Like an old withered Banyan tree
At the village crossroads
Uncommunicative, inanimate
Could show no emotions
Because
It comforted You…..
Today
Handing in the cord of life
At the other end
And feeling austerely anxious about
The painful solitude of your unending Absence
Waiting and watching incessantly
To see you
I
Long for those jabbing taunts……
That
I’ve become habitual of.

SCENE FROM MY WINDOW

When the heaven pours,
Sitting by the window, I gaze for hours.
Wonderful charm of the misty hill amazes,
And open the window, cold breeze freezes
On the wooden chair, sitting
Tranquil and devoid of thoughts,
Enjoying lively scenes, time doesn’t stop
Hills filled with lichens and ferns, nothing else would fit,
Half hill is seen,
fog hides the other half of it.
Now as I shut the window of mine,
Let me go and let me dine.
This nature is so nice,
That I want to see it once, twice and thrice

TALKING TREE

Look! I am a tree, I am a tree
Look! My leaves are unfurled,
Don’t cut me! Don’t cut me!
Because I am important for the world.
Birds are having their homes on us
We give you fruit which
are very delicious.
But you humans don’t understand,
And you keep cutting us for your land.
When it rains, when it rains,
Hear my soothing sound
When the drops from the leaves
Touch the ground.
We protect you,
From the sleet snow or rain,
Please save us from pain.
See our lovely flowers,
How they bloom,
When you cut us
See how the bees gloom.
We protect your from heat,
And provide food for you to eat.
Our numbers are dwindling
from day to day,
So please find a way, to make us stay.

SCHOOL LIFE

Wonderful is the school life
Enjoyable is the school life
Gainful is the school life
For the likes of you and me
Who works
When it is time to work
Who plays
When it is time to play…….
