JAMMU, Aug 10: Intern-ational Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu, today organized the Initiation Ceremony for the newly admitted batch of MBA (International Business) Programme, Session: 2017-19. Vikrant Kuthiala, Chairman, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu Chapter, was the chief guest on the occasion and Vaibhav from Jammu Startups Community, was the special guest.
Vikrant Kuthiala made the students understand the relevance of joining a Management programme and referred it to as an important step for the beginning of their professional careers. He highlighted the significant role that the International Centre shall play as a facilitator towards their professional growth and development. He deliberated that vision, hard work, determination, effort and self-discipline, in all spheres of life, bring forth fruitful results. On a broader note, Kuthiala acquainted the students about the dynamism of the present business environment, issues of demonetization as well as GST.
Vaibhav, during his interaction with the students, deliberated upon the entrepreneurial bent that the students need to build as a suitable career prospect. He threw light upon the concept of start-ups and reflected upon the collaborative initiatives that are in the pipeline through continuous brainstorming with the entrepreneurial network in alliance with the Jammu Startups Community. He elaborated upon teamwork, group dynamics, community and social outreach as important elements for successful business functioning.
Earlier, Professor Deepak Raj Gupta, Director, ICccR & HRM, motivated the students for creating a professional work culture wherein entrepreneurial pursuits need to undertaken and developed in a holistic manner. Laying emphasis upon creating institutional synergies via industry-academia collaborations, he encouraged the students to leverage upon their potentialities and capabilities to the fullest.
During the Programme, the ‘Innovation Cell’ was also inaugurated at ICccR & HRM JU, by the resource persons on the occasion. This ‘Innovation Cell’ has been created with the objective of encouraging budding student entrepreneurs by providing them with required information, building confidence through activities and nurturing their skills by conducting workshops and events. Moreover, it also aims to build a vibrant student entrepreneurial community.
Dr Isha Sharma, Assistant Professor, ICccR & HRM, presented the vote of thanks. The Programme was attended by the students and faculty at ICccR & HRM, JU. Dr Pallvi Arora, Assistant Professor, ICccR & HRM, was the Master of Ceremonies.
