Infant among three killed; three injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Nov 13: Three persons including an infant were killed while three others were injured in two road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police official, four persons of a family received serious injuries when a Swift car bearing registration number JK02BF-8535 in which they were travelling from Gajansoo to Muthi, plunged into a deep Nalah from a culvert at Sangrampur after the driver lost control over the vehicle. He said that the accident occurred last night at about 11.45 PM.
All the injured identified as Preeti Devi (32) wife of Sunil Sharma, Madhu Sudan Sharma (38), son of Bansi Lal, Kavita Devi (40) wife of Madu Sudan Sharma and Guglu (1) son of Madhu Sudan, all residents of Roop Nagar, were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Guglu was declared as brought dead by the doctors. Later, Preeti Devi also succumbed to her injuries. Doman police had registered a case in this connection and started investigations.
Meanwhile, a speeding truck bearing registration number JK02BD-9589 this morning hit a scooter (registration number JK02S-9986) at Sidhra bridge. In the mishap, two persons travelling on the scooter, who were identified as Jagdev Singh (59) son of Raj Singh and Tarsem (60) son of Milkhi Ram, both residents of RS Pura, were received serious injuries.
Both the injured were rushed to GMCH Jammu, where Jagdev was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The concerned police had registered a case in this connection and started investigations. In the meanwhile, police had registered the driver of the truck and seized his vehicle.
After completing all medico-legal formalities, the bodies of all the deceased were handed over to their legal heirs for last rites.
