Industrial units facing financial crunch: BBIA

JAMMU, June 28:  Bari Brahmana Industrial Association (BBIA) has alleged that due to non-payment  by the Government departments since long, many  industrial units here are facing acute financial crunch.
In a meeting of the Executive Committee of Bari Brahmana Industries Association held here today under the chairmanship of Lalit Mahajan (president),  the speakers expressed concern over the non-payment by several Government departments for the goods procured from many industrial units at Bari Brahmana and other locations.
President of the Association, Mr  Mahajan in his address said that financial position of many  small and medium industrial units has deteriorated.  He said these units have made supply of material to PHE, PDD and several other units amounting to over  Rs 20 crores.  Due to non- payment, these units are facing financial losses.  The unit holders do not have the money for the repayment of the working capital loans, purchase of raw material, making power supply bills and clear wages of the workers.
Mr Mahajan urged upon the Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu  and Minister for Industries, Chander Parkash Ganga to intervene into the matter and issue necessary instructions to the  concerned departments to clear the pending payments of the industrial units.
Prominent among others who attended the meeting included Rahul Bansal senior vice president, Varun Singla vice president,  Ajay Langar general secretary, Viraaj  Malhotra- treasurer and other Executive Committee members of the Association.
