Indu asks workers to gear up for ULB polls

JAMMU, Feb 23:  Pradesh Mahila Congress president, Indu Pawar has asked the party workers to gear up their activities in view of coming Urban Local Bodies and Panchayat polls in the State.
In a meeting of the Mahila Congress activists organized at PCC headquarters, Shahidi Chowk here today, Pawar asked the party workers to meet frequently with common people  and start visiting wards for Corporation elections and also the grass root voters of  Panchayats for election of  Panchs, who are sick of the non- performance of present Government. She asked the Mahila workers of the party  to remain alert and  get ready for Panchayat, Municipal and Local Bodies elections which can be announced by the Govt any time.
She alleged that Modi Government has only framed `Jumla’  and is misleading the public. Even after the surgical strikes,  the country is losing many brave soldiers and intrusion  from Pakistan side is increasing. The  NDA Govt claimed that insurgency will reduce after surgical strike and demonetization step, but they have proved futile exercises. The demonetization has caused damage to the economy of the country.
The former MLA impressed upon the Mahila office bearers to work whole heartedly for strengthening of Congress party which is committed to give women of their due share in the coming elections. She said Congress  is a true democratic party and  does not discriminate on gender, region, cast or class.
Women, who will be elected as Panchs, Sarpanchs in Panchayat or in Municipal Corporations or other Local Bodies will be part of decision making and Development of society and state/country and will be centre of power.
“Our strength and capacity to work should increase day by day and  we must meet our voters and ensure that even a single sufferer is heard  and represented and his problems are addressed.
