Indo-Pak troops exchange sweets

JAMMU, Aug 22: Indo-Pak troops today exchanged sweets and greetings on both Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) in Jammu on the occasion of Eid festival
“Indian and Pakistan Armies exchanged sweets on the occasion of Eid at Chakan Da Bagh crossing-point on the LoC in Poonch district this morning.
“The sweet exchange was proposed by Pakistan army on hotline in the morning today. Compliments were exchanged in an atmosphere of bonhomie and festivity,’’ official sources said.
“The sweets exchange is an appreciated gesture from both countries and is expected to go a long way in promoting peace, harmony and compassion in the true spirits of the festival,’’ they added.
Sweets and greetings by the Army officials of India and Pakistan were also exchanged at various other designated places on the LoC.
At the International Border (IB), the BSF and Rangers exchanged sweets and greetings on the occasion of Eid festival at Octroi Post in Suchetgarh sector of RS Pura tehsil this morning.
On the IB also, sweets were exchanged by BSF and Rangers at several other points.
