Indian Army’s Football Tournament concludes

RAMBAN, Sept 17: After over a fortnight long high voltage football action involving close to 300 players from hinterland, Banihal Football League organised by Indian Army concluded today with final played at Lamber Ground, here.
The tournament was organised by the Army with an aim to motivate youth towards physical fitness and foster sportsmanship and develop the interest in competitive sports by providing them a platform to showcase their talent.
16 teams participated in this tournament which had begun on September 5, 2018.
The final match of the tournament was played between SFA Banihal Seniors and SFA Little Stars.
SFA Banihal Seniors lifted the title after an exciting contest.
The winners and the runners-up teams were awarded the championship trophies along with other prizes.
The initiative taken by the Army was highly appreciated by the local populace. The Army too assured the people of continued co-operation in promoting sports and team spirit in the area.
