Indian Ambassador to Spain, CIC call on Governor

SRINAGAR, June 29: Vikram Misri, Indian Ambassador to Spain, called on N.N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhavan, today.
Ambassador Misri informed the Governor about the enormous potential of J&K benefiting from collaborative arrangements with Spanish companies in identified fields. On learning about the possibility of Saffron growers in J&K being able to significantly raise the average yields in their farms the Governor arranged for Ambassador to discuss this matter with Commissioner Agricultural Production and other concerned officers today.
The Governor hoped that Ambassador’s initiatives in J&K would bear early fruit on several fronts.
G. R. Sufi, State Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) also called on Governor.
Mr. Sufi presented to the Governor a copy of SIC’s Annual report (2012-13) and briefed him about the broad outcome of the State Information Commission’s functioning, continuing initiatives being taken by him and members of SIC for enhancing awareness among the people at large about their rights and privileges under the State Right to Information Act 2009.
The Governor observed that the effective implementation of this important statute would contribute towards reducing corruption and significantly furthering the interests of good governance.
