India test-fires Brahmos

The country is making steady progress in missile technology. Our scientists and technocrats have made us proud that India has the capability of becoming self sufficient in producing advanced weapons and bring indigenous technology to a high level.
Successful testing of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile with the capability of carrying a warhead of 300 kg from a testing range along the Odisha coast gives more support to our defence preparedness especially in missile warfare. The missile is capable of carrying a warhead of 300 kg. The two-stage missile, one being solid and the second one ramjet liquid propellant, has already been inducted into the Army and Navy, while the Air Force version is in final stage of trial.
We have to develop our defence capability in all dimensions because notwithstanding our avowed peace policy, two of our immediate neighbouring countries have adopted hostile attitude towards us overtly as well as covertly. They do not want that India should rise as a powerful leader in the Asian continent. Despite offer of peace and non-interference in each others’ borders and internal affairs, both of them are unable to hide their animus and come out in open confrontation. Pakistan has set up huge terror machine via the jihadi ideologues that it calls the frontline of her defence system. China seriously continues her age-old policy of making inroads into the territories of her neighbours under one or the other pretext. In Pakistan she has a willing neighbor to give her physical space if that poses direct or indirect challenge to the security of India. In such circumstances we have to be prepared for any eventuality. We have to regularly upgrade our defence preparedness and make use of advanced technology in producing much needed weapons for self defence. We salute our scientists and technocrats at ISRO for another brilliant success in firing BrahMos missile.
