India, Morocco decide to boost defence ties

NEW DELHI: India and Morocco Tuesday resolved to deepen their defence and security cooperation and inked two agreements providing for collaboration in cyber security and use of outer space, officials said.

The two sides also decided to boost bilateral counter-terror cooperation during talks between Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her Moroccan counterpart Abdeltif Loudyi.

“During the meeting, both ministers agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of defence and security,” the Defence Ministry said in a statement.

The two ministers identified hydrography, peacekeeping as well as counter-terror cooperation as potential areas to deepen bilateral engagement.

The two sides also agreed to cooperate in ship building.

The pacts on cooperation in peaceful uses of outer space and in the area of cyber security were signed following the talks between the two ministers. (AGENCIES)
