JAMMU, Mar 24: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subash Shastri on Sunday appealed to all the mainstream political parties to clear their stand regarding implementation of the recommendations of Ashok Lavasa Committee in their manifestoes which is likely to be released by these parties shortly for ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
He further said that high-level Lavasa panel submitted its report on pay anomalies to the Finance Department of Central Government in April 2017.
“Delay in accepting the recommendations of the Committee report by the central government has left the employees concerned,” Shastri said while addressing a meeting of NMC workers here.
He said the Lavasa Committee had proposed a minimum scale pension to lower class employees and pensioners to Rs 21,000.
“The government employees and the pensioners constitute a sizeable voter constituency and this constituency can be a determining factor in the electoral considerations,” Shastri maintained.
He appealed to Governor’s administration in the state to ensure timely disbursement of long pending wages of daily rated workers to facilitate them to celebrate upcoming festivals of Navratras with peace of mind.
He also demanded regular disbursement of monthly wages of the daily rated workers till their regularization.
Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Ram Singh, Paramjit, Sudesh Bhagat and others were also present in the meeting.
