Impressive Shoba yatras taken out in Srinagar, Mattan

SRINAGAR, Sept 3: An impressive Shoba Yatra was taken out in Summer Capital on the occasion of Janamashtami here, today.

The devotees who had taken a Jhanki of Lord Krishna were singing bhajans in praise of Lord enroute. They became attraction of the people at Gantaghar Lal Chowk, when the devotees separately in groups of male and female started dancing in a traditional Kashmiri style.
The Shoba Yatra started at Lal Chowk Gantaghar and after passing through historical Budshah bridge, DC Office it culminated at Habba Kadal temple. The devotees included both men and women drawn from different parts of Srinagar city and its outskirts.
The two youth attired in colorful costumes depicting as Radha and Krishana formed the part of the Shoba yatra.
Talking to reporters the devotees said that they have been organising this Shoba Yatra for last 11 years and they never faced any problem in organising this religious function on the occasion of Janamashtami . They said that they got full support of the members of majority community in taking out the Shoba yatra in different parts of the city.
An impressive Shoba Yatra was also taken out by the Kashmiri Pandits at Mattan in Anantnag district of South Kashmir.
A large number of devotees drawn form different areas of district participated in the Shoba yatra which was organized by Tirath Raj Trust Mattan led by Ashok Sidha.
The Shoba Yatra started from holy shrine of Mattan and it passed through various areas including Bungam. The devotees enroute were singing bhajans and Kirtan in praise of Lord Krishna. They were also dancing and greeting each other on the occasion.
The Shoba yatra later culminated in the premises of holy temple and devotees were served with prashad afterwards.
