The decision of the Union Cabinet to raise salary of the Central staff is a welcome step. Taking a cue from this decision the State Government needs to implement 7th Pay Commission report in letter and spirit and its benefit be extended to the pensioners with one rank one pension holders since January 2016. The employees will perform their duties with added determination and devotion. Medical allowance be enhanced to Rs 1000 per month as the employees/pensioners are facing a lot of hardship in view of increasing prices of medicines and doctor’s consultation fees.
Another problem regarding regularization of 61000 daily wagers in various Engineering Departments is pending for more than a decade. The principle of natural justice also favours that the benefit needs to be given from the date of injustice. Although the present Govt has shown great concern and extreme sympathy in this regard but the matter is still in doldrums.
