KATHUA, Nov 27: Jammu and Kashmir General Category Employees Forum (GCEF) held a meeting under the chairmanship of Er Kuldeep Sharma, Convener Kathua Unit in which hundreds of employees both males and females from different departments participated.
The members urged the Chief Minister for immediate implementation of the historic judgment of High Court regarding no reservation in promotions.
They were of the view that they are not against the reservation to the down trodden classes at the time of appointment only as per the constitutional provision, but the benefit should go to the really deserving and economically poor section of the society.
They further appealed the Government to come out from the pressure and threats of the so-called socio-religious bodies and quash the illegal promotion orders issued otherwise the general category employees will be forced to follow the agitation path.
