BHADERWAH, Jan 13: Continuing the operation against the timber smugglers, Forest Department seized 187.09 cft illicit deodar timbers from different locations of Forest Range Keller.
As per official spokesperson, the Central Forest Control Bhaderwah led by Mohammad Haroon Khan, Incharge FCR Bhaderwah, Ayaz Ahmed, Abdul Qayoom, Mohammad Rafiq Kelu, Tariq Hussain and Akhter Hussain under the supervision of DFO Bhaderwah Vivek Verma seized 187.09 cft illicit deodar timbers from different locations in Forest Range Kellar.
In this operation at village Pendku in Forest Range Kellar, the smugglers identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed Malik and Mohammad Saleem Butt, both residents of Village Sirsi, Paryote fled away from the spot taking benefit of darkness leaving behind their tools and illicit timber which were later seized by forest officials.
A case has been registered against the timber smugglers under Section 6 of Forest Act and inquiry has been initiated.
