UDHAMPUR, Aug 27: Police today arrested a bootlegger and seized 72 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession near Salathia Chowk, Udhampur.
Acting on reliable information, a Police party from Police Station Udhampur, led by Inspt Deepak Jasrotia, intercepted one suspicious person who was travelling on foot near Salathia Chowk. During thorough search of that suspicious person, 72 pouches of illicit liquor were recovered from the said accused, identified as Jeet Singh of Mani, Ramnagar, who was also arrested on the spot.
In this connection, a case under Excise Act has been registered in Police Station Udhampur.
