JAMMU, Sept 2: Police seized illicit liquor from village Sheikhupur Morole, falling under the jurisdiction of Arnia police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a police team led by SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal conducted raid in village Sheikhupur Morole and found two ladies identified as Renu Devi, wife of Dev Raj and Radha Devi, wife of Vijay Kumar, both residents of Morole selling illicit liquor on the main road near their house.
Few persons, who were also standing and drinking liquor, on seeing police cops, escaped from the spot. The ladies also fled away from the spot by taking benefit of a narrow lane.
Around 100 litres of lahan and utensils were destroyed on the spot, whereas 4 litres of illicit liquor and 3 steel glasses were seized from the spot.
A case under FIR Number 86/17 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Arnia and hunt has been launched to arrest the ladies.
