SRINAGAR, Sept 28: In connection with direction passed by the Minister for Horticulture Syed Basharat Bukhari in a recent meeting regarding making Jawahar Tunnel operational round the clock during fruit season, Inspector General of J&K Traffic Police today assigned tasks to concerned police officers to ensure smooth, safe and timely transportation of horticulture industry produce to outside the State.
IGP Traffic directed SSP Traffic Rural and SSP Traffic National Highway Ramban to give priority to the movement of fruit vehicles from the Valley towards Jammu.
He directed SSP Traffic City Jammu, SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, SSP Traffic National Highway Ramban and SP Traffic Rural Jammu for pasting one-point checking sticker on the fruit vehicles to ensure hassle free movement.
SSP Kulgam, SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir and SSP Traffic National Highway Ramban will ensure opening of both tubes of Jawahar Tunnel round the clock for hassle free moment of fruit vehicles in view of the ongoing fruit season.
