Srinagar, May 11: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, SJM Gillani has approved the promotion of 287 police personnel to their next rank, a police spokesman said.
The spokesman said that the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) met under the Chairmanship of the Inspector General of Police, Kashmir and promoted 276 selection grade constables to the next rank of head constable, besides in a special DPC 11 cases were approved for promotion in different ranks which included promotion of five Head Constables to the rank of ASIs, four selection grade constables to the rank of HCs and two constables to the rank of Selection grade constables
“Since January 2017, ZPHQ Kashmir under its various orders has promoted two Head Constables, 07 Selection Grade Constables and one Constable to their next ranks respectively,” he said.
Meanwhile, during the current year, ZPHQ Kashmir, RPHQs and Dispols of Kashmir Zone vide different orders have granted in-situ grade promotion to 226 Police Personnel including two HCs, 153 Constables and 71 Followers of Kashmir Zone so far, the spokesman said.
The IGP in his message has felicitated these promoted jawans and their families and expressed his hope that they will strive to work with the same zeal and dedicate themselves to work for public peace and welfare.
