IFJP demands proposed Jammu metro linkage with nearby townships

JAMMU, Mar 6: Interaction Forum Jammu Province (IFJP) today demanded the Government to link proposed Jammu metro project with nearby townships.
The issue was discussed in the executive committee meeting of IFJP held here today during which it was resolved that  the proposed Jammu metro project should link Akhnoor, Vijaypur, Ramnagar, Kot Bhalwal, Nagrota, Bishnah and RS Pura townships to ensure better connectivity to the general public.
During the meeting, Jagrik Samaj, a voluntary social organization set up by civil society Akhnoor engaged in the social work for the last more than two decades, accepted the institutional membership of IFJP.
While speaking on the occasion, BS Jamwal, former Deputy Commissioner, said that association of Jagrik Samaj with IFJP aims at working in unison to support and achieve the objectives of IFJP in furtherance to the cause of Jammu province for forging broader unity among all shades and sections of the people and help ensuring the legitimate rights of the people of Jammu region besides creating awareness for safeguarding socio-economic, developmental and geo political interests of Jammu province.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting were Col Bana Ram, Baldev Singh, Capt LK Sharma, Subash Shastri, BS Jamwal, Dr YP Sawhney, BC Raina, Ashok Sharma, HS Billouria, Zahid Sarfraz Malik, Gitanjali Goswami, Ashwani Banotra, Dr Iftkar Hussain Zafri, Rameshwar Sharma, Arjun Sharma, Kailash Nath, Nakul Sharma, Jeet Singh, Sanjay Choudhary and Dharam Singh.
