ICF organizes Choupaal at village Kalaandar

SAMBA, Jan 29: Indian Cultural Forum (ICF) in its continuous endeavour to uplift Literature, Music, Folk, Theater, Art and Cultural heritage of the region, today organized a musical cum literary programme at village Kalaandar here in Ramgarh sector, under heritage series.
Professor Lalit Magotra, chief patron, ICF and convener, Dogri Advisory Board, Sahitya Academy, New Delhi, presided over the programme whereas Sita Ram Sapolia, Sahitya Akademi Awardee and Dogri poet was chief guest and Mohan Singh, Sahitya Akademi Awardee, was the special guest at the function.
Reputed poets and poetesses of the State like Tara Chand Kalaandri, Sita Ram Sapolia, Randhir Singh Raipuria, Deepak Aarsi, Vijaya Thakur, Suman Pal, Usha Kiran Kiran, Ashok Ambar, Manzoor Ahmed Lutfi, Mohan Singh, Suraj Ratan Bakshi, Susheel Begana and Dr Baljit Singh Raina recited their poetry.
Reputed singers like Sham Sajan, Rabjot Singh Rabbi, Satveer Jamwal, Manju Bala, Jaideep Ratan and Sourabh Kapoor presented Dogri songs.
A good number of members of ICF including Jang Singh Verman, Kuldeep Raj Gupta and Vinay Kumar Sharma were present among the village gathering.
Sham Sajan, founder president of ICF in his welcome address, highlighted the activities and policies of the Forum and emphasized on the necessity of these functions.
Prof Lalit Magotra in his presidential observations stated that the programme was highly successful as it fulfilled the basic aim of the Forum which is to popularize regional poetry through musical programmes and take the literature near the people of far-flung areas.
Pradeep Khanna, a noted anchor and cultural critic, conducted the programme in his impressive and inimitable style. Deepak Aarsi, general secretary of ICF presented vote of thanks.
