Hunger strike by Contractual Lecturers enters 330th day

JAMMU, Jan 11: The ongoing chain hunger strike by the Contractual Lecturers entered into 330th day, today as there has been no response from the State Government towards their demand of regularization.
While addressing the protesters, president of All J&K 10+2 Contractual Lecturers Association, Arun Bakshi reiterated to continue the ongoing hunger strike till the Government concedes their demand.
He appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Governor N N Vohra to personally intervene into the matter and provide them justice.
These Contractual Lecturers are demanding their regularization as per the Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010, a legislation passed for the regularization of all the Ad-hoc/ Contractual/ Consolidated employees.
Meanwhile, a fresh batch of Contractual Lecturers began their chain hunger strike this morning for the next 24 hours. Those who sat on hunger strike, included Pawan Dev Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Tufail Mohd, Payal Sharma and Kiran Bala.
