Hunger strike by Contractual Lecturers enters 174th day

JAMMU, Aug 6:  The ongoing hunger strike by Contractual Lecturers (10+2) entered into 174th day todays but there has been no response from the Government towards their demand of regularization.
Today these Contractual Lecturers held a protest demonstration under the banner of All J&K Contractual (10 plus 2) Lecturers Association and then submitted their request in the shape of representation, addressed to Chief Minister, Dy Chief Minister, Education Minister and MoS Education.
In the memorandum, the Lecturers Association submitted that they are silently sitting on the hunger strike for the last 174 days seeking a positive response on their demand.
These Contractual Lecturers are demanding their regularization as per the Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010, a policy framed for the regularization of all the Ad-hoc/ Contractual/Consolidated employees after rendering seven years of services.
