Hundreds throng Mata Katyayani Temple, Kheer Bhawani Manzgam

KULGAM, July 20: Hundreds of Kashmiri Hindu devotees today thronged the ancient and historical temple of Mata Katyayani at village Kakran in Kulgam district on Annual Mahayagya organised by Harmukh Ganga (Gangbal) Trust (HGGT) and supported by All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) as the yearly feature of ‘HaarAshtami’.
Kashmiri Hindus reached Katyayani temple on July 19 when the Mahayagya began while the Purna Ahuti was performed today and  hundreds devotees besides some dignitaries joined the  religious function.
The temple wore a festive look as Kashmiri Hindus thronged the temple which has been restored and decorated under the supervision of APMCC chairman, Vinod Pandit.
According to a statement issued by King C Bharati, national spokesperson, APMCC, the Katyayani Temple is the biggest temples that APMCC has reconstructed, but is also the most beautiful one which has been expanded by constructing Dharamshala (LaldedBhawan). He said the Kalhana Library is also in the pipeline.
APMCC-HGGT has been organising annual Mahayagya at Katyayani Temple and BhootNath temple at Kakran annually since 2005 where hundreds of devotees attend and take Prasad.
The devotees also prayed for the world peace and normalcy in Kashmir besides dignified return of Kashmiri Hindus to their motherland.
Prominent among those who attended the function include Vinod Pandit, Joginder Singh Jamwal, Chnad Ji Bhat, Ashok Singh Jamwal,Pawan Handoo, Vineet Raina, Kuljit Ji, Sumit Pandita,Ratan Lal Bhat, president SMT, Bandipora Kaloosa, Sonu Singh, Bopinder Singh, Sunny Pandita and other members of Team APMCC-HGGT.
Meanwhile Ashad Ashtami was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety at Kheer Bhawani, Asthapan Manzgam in Kulgam district today.
The function was organized by Asthapan Committee Manzgam, Kulgam under the supervision of the president of the Temple Committee, Kuldeep Raina. A large number of devotees participated in the religious function and paid obeisance to Goddess on the occasion.
The devotees were served with Prashad on the occasion. The Pooja was also performed to historic Sandal tree (Chandan tree) in the temple complex.
The chairman Nagdandi Committee, B L Bhat, J N Sagar, Avtar Krishan Raina members of the Committee were also present.
