Hundreds of devotees join annual Machail Yatra

BHADERWAH, Aug 18: Hundreds of devotees converged at Chandi Mata Temple Chinote Bhaderwah to participate in the annual holy Machail Yatra.
The yatra begins today from its base camp temple situated at Chinote Bhaderwah.
Like every year, the main proceedings of yatra started today and will culminate on August 24 after reaching Machail Padder in Kishtwar district.
About 12,000 pilgrims from all parts of the State as well as outsider participated in this holy Machail-Padder Yatra.
The devotees assembled at Chandi Mata Temple in Chinote and marched towards Machail Padder area of district Kishtwar.
A devotee from Jammu Kuldeep Sharma said, “I am participating in this holy yatra along with my family for the first time with the blessings of  Chandi Mata.
“Devotees have complete faith in the holly deity (Chandi Mata) as their wishes get fulfilled resulting in the increasing number of followers from all over India. Last year 2.5 lakh pilgrims had darshan at Machail and we are hopeful this year the number will cross 3 lakhs”, said Thakur Kulbir Singh Jamwal, Head Priest and Chief Organizer of the Yatra, adding that the temple organization had arranged all the basic arrangements for the pilgrims.
The security arrangements were beefed-up by the administration. Vehicles carrying police party will accompany the yatries.
Different Mandir Committees of Chenab valley have arranged langers, drinking water and other essential items en-route for devotees.
