JAMMU, Mar 31: We The Human, a public charitable Trust expressed its dismay over delay in settlement of claims of even first installment of sanctioned relief to the PoJK displaced persons.
Addressing a press conference, Gurcharan Singh, Chairman of We The Human said that most of the community members, striving hard for their survival, till date, are in deplorable conditions. “Their wards were given no benefits of reservations in education or in Government jobs. No compensation has been provided to them against their large chunks of land, which were left in the PoJK. Muzaffarabad community people, who had migrated from Muzaffarabad bordering Uri in Kashmir part of the PoJK, should have been given land in Kashmir valley. But, as a matter of conspiracy, they were settled in Jammu province”, Singh stated.
He demanded allotment of land to Muzaffarabad community members in Kashmir valley, till the PoJK gets liberated by the Government of India.
Gurcharan Singh appealed to Chief Minister to declare an effective incentive policy for all agriculturist of the State who either have shifted or aspire to shift to traditional systems of agricultural farming and special incentives should be declared for entrepreneurs and traders who wish to manufacture or open up sales outlets for organic agricultural inputs and microbial composting culture.
Prem Singh founder member of the Trust demanded two Parliament segments to give representation to PoJK displaced persons, before 2019 general elections, filling up of 24 assembly seats kept reserved for PoJK from PoJK displaced persons settled in Jammu and Kashmir, early settlement of all West Pakistan refugees, issuance of State subject to West Pakistan refugees, deportation of Rohingyas from J&K, save the sacred threads of Sections like 35A or 370 and no domicile certificates of the State should be issued to outsiders.
BD Chowdhary Field Officer of the Trust said that excessive use of toxic chemical pesticides, insecticides, fungicides, herbicides and fertilizers in few areas of Jammu like Arnia, Vijaypur, Top Phalla Mandal, Dattryal and Badyal Brahmna by farmers hailing from outside J&K should be immediately got stopped and all such vegetables produced using heavy sprays of toxic chemicals should be got checked by the Agriculture Department and Food Safety Organization.
