Huge quantity of dried poppy recovered

Srinagar, June 8: Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 55 packets of dried poppy (fukki) during a raid in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district today.
A Police spokesman said that in its endeavor to weed out drug menace from the society, police party led by DySP Headquarters  Anantnag, Burhan Kanth acting on specific information raided a residential complex in Prakashpora Anchidoora area of Anantnag and recovered 55 packets of dried poppy (fukki) and arrested the accused person from the spot.
He said the team was accompanied by Naib Tehsildar Anantnag and in this regard a case FIR No 93/2018 stands registered in Police Station Anantnag and further investigation is going on.
